The Collective: Circle Seascape
"The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct".
~Carl Jung
Dear Tina,
How are you, my friend? I have to say that the last package you sent me lit me up! I love how you included my collage and painting from all those years back. It was fun to see how my work has evolved, yet the threads of thought remain the same. I remember feeling so playful and free when I created them. It's a good reminder to "trust the process" of creation. You never know where it will lead.
The colors in your last collage had a serenity that I wanted to capture. I dusted off my watercolors which I hadn't used in a while. I almost forgot how much I love them. They are so fluid, light, playful, and airy.
I started off with some small, abstract paintings. They reminded me of the ocean which I have been craving. It's been a while since I've felt the warm air and taken a walk on the beach.
I decided to keep the theme of the circle from your moon map. Here is the finished piece.
It's hard to see in the picture but I added little flecks of gold into the paint as a nod to the gold leaf you used in your collage. (I loved your video by the way!)
I wrote a little found poem for you to go with this piece:
Savor Joy
We are microcosms of creation
Resting safely in circles of support
Called by the Divine within
to birth all we are meant to be
Let go and create
Set yourself free
Possibilities lie within
Savor the joy that is felt
Hope you are doing well!

p.s. I have some fun things coming your way in the mail!
