Book Exchange: Laura’s Seascape

Dear Tina,

You captured the gorgeous turquoise water you saw in Hawaii so beautifully. It reminded me of the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea that I love so much. The water is so clear, warm, and beautiful. It feels like home to me. We have similar nutrients in our water here on the CT shoreline and it’s slightly murky and MUCH colder!

The question you asked yourself about your use of color made me pause and think about my own use of color. I think color is often an extension of how I’m feeling in the moment which may be why I have a hard time going back into paintings that I’ve started. Emotions are so fleeting so it’s hard to regain that same energy.

I did a loose watercolor of the ocean. I wanted to capture the sense of freedom and peace I feel by the sea.

Cheery Smiles your way…🌺 Laura
