Today we completed the new blog template (we still have some kinks to work out and will be pointing out all the awesomeness next week once the dust settles) and had some fun with this photo.
We decided to enlist the help of our good friend Sue to do a little photo shoot for us. While we got a few stares and glares down at the Bluff near Laura’s house, we didn’t mind because we were cracking ourselves up. Lots of silliness going on over here!
We had looked for vintage swimsuits like the girls in the original photo but couldn’t come up with anything close to resembling them. Laura remembered she had bought a slew of vintage aprons on one of her Brimfield adventures and we thought they would make perfect artist aprons and substitute nicely for the swimsuits. I think we were both secretly glad we didn’t have to get into those frumpy swimsuits!
This afternoon, we spent a lot of time in Laura’s studio dreaming and to-do listing. Tomorrow we have some wonderful news to share with you about an upcoming exhibition. Until then, we will leave you with this message from Lis Bakery in Mystic, Connecticut…..
We ate cupcakes rather than cookies, but who is complaining!
Tomorrow we head to New York City so we will do our best to squeeze in a few blog posts while we are wandering around there.
