Hello Sweet T & friends!

Do you remember the great “print debate” and my decision on the matter? Well, I just had 15 brand *NEW* prints made~whoo hooo!  I could not be happier with the quality of them. All the time I spent color matching them to my original paintings paid off because they look AMAZING! I am just finishing packaging them up for the OPEN STUDIO this weekend~yippee!

Before I list them in my Etsy shop or have any more made it is important for me to understand how people connect with my work. This is one reason hosting an Open Studio is so important to me. It gives me an opportunity to share what I am up to and listen to those that respond to my work.

I would like to share my excitement and give YOU an opportunity to win your favorite 8″ x 10″ print simply by letting me know which one’s are your favorites! If you come to the studio you will be able to see them in person but I know many of you live too far away and I didn’t want to leave you out. Everyone can participate simply by answering these questions listed below in the comments section of this post. Please leave your email address so that I can get in touch with you should you be the WINNER!

Your thoughts and opinions mean the world to me because creating can be so solitary. This is a fun way to bring you into my creative process.

Here are the questions:

1. Looking at my website which painting or paintings are your favorites?

2. What do you like about them? (ex. color, size, subject matter, etc..)

3. Do they evoke a mood or feeling?

That’s it! Easy peasy! You will have until Saturday afternoon at 4pm to leave your comment and be entered into the drawing. The winner will be announced on Sunday, May 6th! Best of luck and thank you SO much for taking the time to help a girl out!

p.s. If you get a friend to leave a comment or share this on Facebook I will enter your name twice! Just let me know that you shared!

  1. Hi Laura, So…..I want to play! I hope my comments count toward winning a print of yours!
My favorite paintings on your website are many….First I always enjoy the Mail Art because I have a vested interest with you on that (plus “be your own hero” is not only your mantra, but mine as well). I also enjoy any of your work that has the book pages incorporated into the paintings. “Fragments of Life” is one of my favorites (which I know doesn’t have the book pages but I want to talk about this one) because the found object (branch) along with the abstract paintings. It reminds me of your ‘moments’ you use as inspiration. These three paintings and branch are moments put together that I think speak to another level of experience in our lives~ a string of moments might mean something entirely different than on isolated moment. You know I am always coming up with different ideas for a series you could work on (I do this for myself as well), but I can see this developing into a daily practice and people could mix and match which ones they want to see side by side. Or you put them together depending on your experience with the work. So, this work makes me feel inspired. I can see it blossoming into something bigger. BUT don’t get carried away from what you are working on right now to think too much about this. If it seems interesting just tuck it away for later or not at all! I could go on and on here but I suppose I will let someone else do the talking next.
    love, tina
