Learn more about Laura & Tina’s Vision/ReVision Project
Dear Tina,
This morning I was awoken to the most magical sunrise out of my bedroom window. If I had taken a picture of it, it would have made for an interesting contrast to my Vision of the moon this week (a picture I took last night). I think fall has been putting on an amazing show to transition me into the cooler weather. I am receiving each gift with open arms and find myself in awe and alive to the wonder of it all. In search of more remarkable moments this week…xoLaura
Dear Laura,
I thought I would post a drawing I am working on for our Vision. Perhaps it will spark something you see this week. I am not finished with it yet but feel close enough to share this photo with you. As I had mentioned in my Working Table post this past week, I have been drawing the roots of the weeds I have picked out of my garden. It is a simple drawing of a simple subject.
Tina
Again, I gotta apologize for the indecent photo. I am pretty sure my camera is just about dead.

Tina, I am just LOVING these drawings! Roots are so delicate yet together they are strong in making the plant grow. I love the way you have drawn them and appreciate them as a form. You have really captured the intricacies in the negative space. Can’t wait to see more! You will have me looking at roots in a whole new light! xoL
Tina:
You may think your drawing of the roots is simple but it is soooooo evocative in its simplicity. Truly. It has a flow and a mystery to it that quite literally almost takes my breath away.
From the heart … Carol
Thanks for commenting Laura and Carol. Laura, I feel like these are my “meditative drawings” much like your ‘meditative paintings”. I am not trying to complicate them with any sort of intention/meaning/metaphor. But then I start thinking about roots… strength unseen…survival…. nurturing….and I start complicating it again. I am trying to just draw. Carol I appreciate your thoughts a lot. Sometimes I really like these drawings and other times I just see all my faults. Your comment makes me lean more toward the liking. I am glad it struck a chord with you. I will keep at it. Tina
