What a CRAZY week! It is hard to believe we had a hurricane pass through New England! Although many people are still without power, things could have been a lot worse for us here in CT and I for one am grateful, even if it did put a damper on the AWEsome SURPRISE party my sweet husband through for my (dare I say) 40th birthday! I was OVER THE TOP~TOTALLY SURPRISED and am still in AWE of all the trouble he went to for me!

Apparently he had been planning this since April and spared no expense. It was held it at a beautiful marina complete with a tropical theme (I don’t think the tropical storm was in the plans!). As many of you know I am a TOTAL Parrothead and loved the thoughtful attention to detail~a basket of flip flops and lays for everyone to wear, a REAL lay for me shipped all the way from Hawaii, palm trees, twinkle lights, nips for the guys, plenty of food, sea shells, flowers, balloons, plenty of beer and even a MARGARITA MACHINE! How cool is that?!?!? I wish I got a picture of the bar as it was VERY fun! These pictures were taken by my husband on his phone as I of course, didn’t have a camera.
I can only imagine the stress Brett felt in planning this and then having so many people cancel at the last minute due to the impending storm. I was very appreciative of the people who braved the weather to come and would like to send a special shout out to my parents, sister Tina, her husband Chris, my cousin Suzy and her fiance Jeff who all drove TWO hours to be there for me! I have the most wonderful family, friends and husband. Even though things didn’t go as planned I still felt like the luckiest girl in the world!

To my dearest husband,
You are the most thoughtful, generous man I know and I do not know what I would do without you in my life. Every day is filled with new surprises and I look forward to the rest of our lives together. You mean the world to me and I love you with all my heart! Thank you for all that you do and all that you are. Forever your girl…Laura

What a great surprise Laura. I wish I could have been there with you to celebrate your 40th. Good job Brett with all the planning! ~Tina
Thanks dolly! I wish you were here too! xoL
