Laura's Vision 81

Dear Tina,

I cannot look at lavender without thinking of Katherine Dunn’s fanciful drawings and mixed media collages. It may have been Target’s great selection of artsy cards where I first saw her artwork and was moved enough by their whimsy to look her up. What I found was a hard-working, generous woman alive to life and “following her bliss” at a place in Oregon she calls APIFERA Farm. Not only is she a brilliant artist, illustrator and farmer but she shares her kind heart in never ending ways. Both her art and farm are shared on her blog where she writes fantastic stories about life on the farm and her compassion for all living things.

Katherine Dunn is a woman using her passions and art to to help animals in need, often offering giveaways on her blog. You cannot help but feel called to action when you read her stories as you will find yourself connected to life on the farm. Even the smallest donation is met with gratitude and love, reminding me that even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference and add up to great things. I love how she collects aprons from all over the world to raise money for senior animals. Her magical donkey, Pino hosts annual Pino Pie Day’s with FREE homemade pie and donkey hugs. Now who couldn’t use a donkey hug? I feel invigorated sharing Katherine’s fierce spirit with you. Thinking about all the good she is doing in the world I wondered if you or any of our readers have done or seen anything where passions have been fueled to help others? If so, please share in the comments below. I would love to hear your stories and be INSPIRED!

Vision 81

Dear Laura,

It is the end of the pool season for us even though the 90 degree heat will persist into September.  I have spent a lot of my time swimming this summer so I thought I would give you a vision of this.  I also thought you might like these colors.  I can’t believe the summer is winding down!
