Sweet T, As I worked on my ReVIsion I was thinking of you and your exciting, yet busy week of transitions. I too feel grounded in the oceans unflustered, composure. Living on the water is a constant reminder of how close we are even though we live so far apart. (I don’t think I even realized that until I sat down to write this.) When I am restless walks at the Bluff immediately transform my state of mind and I am present to the day.
As you know my meditative paintings are another way I center myself. When I paint this way I have no expectation for the outcome and create just for myself. I used your photograph from this week as a way to pause and reflect on all you have accomplished with the tender body of work you are currently exhibiting. Sending positive energy and love your way as you open your AMAZING show tonight…I will be thinking of you and there in spirit. love ya! Laura
I thought it was interesting that you wrote, in this ReVision post, about your daily meditative practice. I have started a new journal. I am committing to drawing and writing my daily thoughts and interactions with those around me (my jobs, studio, and family life). Contour drawings have been a quick and easy way to express the moment so I have filled the pages with these drawings and reflective writing. I am also interested in the practice of daily drawing….seeing with my hands. For this ReVision I did a quick contour drawing of your crow conversation. Did you know that crows are incredibly intelligent? They make tools, can recognize faces, and have a complex social structure. I am sure those crows were arguing over some sort of philosophical difference of opinion! Love- Tina
