ReVision 114 (art collaboration)

Laura’s ReVision 114

Dear Tina,

I was in awe of the ice sculpture in your Vision. It made me think of an old song by the Byrds, Turn! Turn! Turn!

“To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven…” Ecclesiates 3:1-8

We don’t have any leaves on our trees just yet but with the arrival of spring I have been thinking about the seasons changing and new growth. I did an underpainting with bright colors, texture and stencils, then did a negative painting of the leaves so they would pop. I used white for the background to represent the passing of winter. Here is to warmer weather, spring flowers and green trees!

Tina’s ReVision 114

 Dear Laura,

Seeing your Vision photo with the antique photo brought me to the antique photo we use as part of our logo.  I wanted to experiment drawing with my graphite pencils, chalk pastels, and modeling paste.  This was a good experiment because I am now going to add these techniques to some of our collaborative work for the upcoming exhibition.  I incorporated the colors from your photo as well.  This one was really enjoyable to make!
