5 paintings in 5 days?

colorful fishing buoys

Hello Tina & friends,

I am coming off a little bit of a “high” from my weekend, completely blissed out and overwhelmed with all of the wonderful people I am so fortunate to have in my life. Brett & I celebrated our 7 year anniversary with a quirky “7 year itch” party. We renewed our vows and I surprised Brett for the first time in my life with a flash mob at the party!!! All of our guests were in on it and it was SO much fun!!! He was completely blown away (no small task I may add). I am still processing all the goodness and the wonderful time we shared with family & friends. I have so much more to let you in on but need to switch gears as I put the finishing touches on my upcoming show at the Lighthouse Gallery. I have 5 paintings started that I didn’t have time to finish before the party and would like to have them for the show which means I only have 5 days to finish them. Do you think I can do it?

bouey painting

Here is one of the paintings you may remember me sharing a few weeks ago. It was a hard call but I decided to let go of the house in the background and added in a few more round buoys. I am still building up the layers but am digging how it is coming along. Looks a little different then how it started, eh?

bouey painting 2I had a little trouble letting go of all the pinks and reds in the original background but I really like how it is evolving with this new, fresh palette.  What do you think?

I still have a little more I want to do on this painting and will share more as it evolves, as well as the progress of the other 4 paintings so stay tuned. It would be so wonderful for you to see them in person at the Opening Reception of my show. Here are the details…

  1. I enjoy seeing your process Laura, so keep posting some pictures of how these five paintings are coming along. It was great to chat with you yesterday. You are always a ray of optimism!

  2. Hi lynne, Thank you for asking me about the buoy painting. I currently do not have that one in a print but would be more than happy to get one made for you. What I would do is create a special listing for you in my Etsy shop (http:www.lauragaffke.etsy.com). Was there a particular size you were interested in? Laura
